Warden and the Wolf King

It's here it's here it's finally here!!!!!!!!! Warden and the Wolf King, the fourth book in Andrew Peterson's amazing Wingfeather Saga, has finally come out for all the world to read.

Everyone needs to read this. You, your parents, your grandparents, your neighbors, your children, your trashman, your mailman, the random lady you walked past in Walmart, EVERYONE.

There's not much I can say about this book that wouldn't be a spoiler. But I can tell you that it's above and beyond even what I thought it would be. This book is so amazing that even people who don't like to read will love it.

But you must start at the beginning, in a little town in Skree called Glipwood. You have to meet Janner, Tink, and Leeli, three normal kids in a small town. You need to meet Nia, their mother, and Podo, their grandfather. You have to learn about the dangerous Fangs of Dang, and their leader Gnag the Nameless. And all about the creatures of Skree, like the extremely dangerous Toothy Cows. And the garden pests called Thwaps.

Then, by the time you finish the first part of the four part series, you won't be able to put it down. You will drive everyone crazy by your endless mutterings about the series. By the time you finish book three, Andrew Peterson will have blown your mind so many times you won't think anything can surprise you ever again.

And then you start Warden and the Wolf king. Andrew proves you wrong again, and again and again and again. Everything he does defies what you thought and imagined, but it makes perfect sense. Every scattered piece that Andrew has been leaving hints about the entire series comes together, and in the end, it is a more than beautiful picture. When you reach the end, you can't help but cry, simply because it's over.

Or is it?

You can always turn back, back to the very beginning.

Where you have to meet Janner, Tink, and Leeli, three normal kids in a small town.

And fall in love all over again.

Oh, and once you've finished the series, click below, because everyone needs to hear this song.

Still Here!

Wow, when I look at the last time I posted, it says 'February 21'. That means I haven't told you guys about all my adventures! I haven't even told you about seeing Mustang!!!! Wow! But at this point, that's too long a story to tell. If I tried to catch you up on everything I have done since I last posted, it would take me hours, and you probably would lose interest in reading such a long post. So I will commence telling you the main points.

  • I played in a Robert Earl Keen concert, which I call the REK (pronouce wreck) concert. It was actually pretty fun.
  • I got to ride Quest again! Except he was being moody and I seriously thought he might buck me off, so his owner actually let me ride Bear! (Whom she is very protective of)
  • I got to see Mustang!!!!!! They came out here, and then I went with them into town and stayed in their hotel with them and then Mustang and I went swimming and oh! It was insanely EPIC!
  • Our homeschool Co-op started! It's really fun.
  • We're reading the Wingfeather Saga again! (Oh yeah!!!)
  • Our cousin came down for part of Spring Break! I got to go over to Grandma's house and play Skip-Bo (which Grandma creamed us at) and Scrabble (which Grandma creamed us at).
  • Two of our friends from where Mom and Dad used to live came down for Spring Break! Those two are a hoot!
I am really not quite sure what to post about, but I know I really should do more than catch you up; I should fill you in.  See, the thing is that for my first post in over a month, I know I shouldn't post about rainbow puffles (which I know for certain and confirmed we are getting on Thursday). But I don't know whether to post about the friends that came down from where Mom and Dad used to live, or puffles, or what. For all I know, the beautiful weather could be worth posting about.

I really just wanted you to know that no, I have not been eaten by a whale, swallowed up by the earth, struck by lightning, or whatever else you can come up with. I'm still here, just busy and finding it hard to post in between math, science, history, and being in town.

I sincerely promise that I will try to keep a schedule of posting, but just a warning, I'm not always great with posting.

But since I mentioned it, do you want to hear about rainbow puffles?

My Life in Random, Scattered Thoughts for Today

  • Yar har! It's Thursday!
  • My sign for today on my day by day calender is funny
  • Oh dear, it's almost Friday.
  • Guess what? I get to ride Quest tomorrow!!!
  • YAY!
  • I love the Wingfeather Saga
  • Oh dear, it's also almost Saturday.
  • I have to do a REK concert, and a music festival thingy
  • OH YAY!!! It's only like, a week until I see Mustang again!
  • If you want to look into The Lord of the Rings trilogy, I sincerely advise you to read the books instead of watching the movies. For the simple reason that, while they are decently good movies, they do not follow the books, so if you want to get the actual story, read the books.
  • Aha! I drew a picture of Janner that actually looks good!
  • It was cold yesterday.
  • I'm getting back into HI (Horse Isle) again!
  • Beware the Bumpy Digtoad
  • I got a sword book when we went into the big city for Creator's son's-OH YEAH! Creator's Son had a card game tournament! And he got like, second place! Anywho, I got a sword book wile we were in the big city for that.
  • I MISS MUSTANG!!!!!
  • Wow, I have a lot of random thoughts today.
  • Oooh I'm hungry. Be right back.
  • Ahhhh. I got some chocolate, and I'm all better now.
  • Toothy cows are ferocious.
  • We have a homeschool presentation night coming up sometime soon.
  • AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Why must we wait for the fourth book????
  • Did you know that when CS drives a car, it's scary.
  • My dog can bark really loud.
  • CS is reading over my shoulder!!!!
  • My life is rather random. How sad.
  • I wonder if CS will read North! Or Be Eaten....... to us while we drive into town today.
  • I hope so!!
  • I can't believe it's already almost the end of February!!!
  • Why must it be cold? WHY?
I think that's all my random thoughts today. Thank you poor readers who endure my randomness.

The Wingfeather Saga. Yes, again.

NOTE: Read the title before deciding if you actually want to read this post, because it's about (you guessed it) THE WINGFEATHER SAGA!!!!!!

Sooo, yeah. I am going back to talking about those crazy Igibys and their adventures (tee hee tee hee).

The three of us crazy people in our house are listening to the first book (Where the guy reading it has a British accent), which makes the who-knows-how-manyinth time for me, the 4thish time for Mom, and the 3rdish time for my brother. After we finish listening to it, Creator's Son will commence reading North! Or Be Eaten out loud. After we finish that, then I will read Monster in the Hollows (out loud). After we finish that, we will all grind our teeth because The Warden and the Wolf King isn't out yet, then I will read them all again.. and again.... and again.... and-you get my point.

Oh, how good it is to be back in the thick of things!

Some random notes about my thoughts on these books:
  • I AM A THRONE WARDEN. Even though I'm second born, and Creator's Son and Mustang both think that I'm not, I AM. So there. End of conversation.
  • I am going to be drawing scenes, people, and places from the books for quite a while.
  • I am also going to be scaring people out of their wits by being awesome and durganish.
  • Did you know that 'durganish' isn't a word?
  • Will Armulyn ever come back? Where'd he go, anyway?
  • Beware of toothy cows.
  • WHY PODO? WHY?
Ok, that's about it. I think. For now. O.o

Oh wait! If you want more interesting insight, drawings, maps and more about the Wingfeather Saga. go here. But beware of the toothy cows. If you want to order the books for the cheapest price I've found yet, possibly get them signed, and have at least some of the money actually go to AP, go to the Rabbit Room. You have to scroll down a bit to find the books, but all of the CDs you see are his music. He's a very good musician, too.

Ok, now I think that's it. For now. O.o

Welll.... You Might Say I'm Obsessed

Yup.. One might say I'm completely obsessed with the Wingfeather Saga. COMPLETELY.

Yesterday was Creator's Son's birthday. We were off from school, soo...... I read all day, except for eating and the twice I got on my computer. So you might say I'm obsessed with the Wingfeather Saga.

Like, the fact that any time not spent doing something else, I'm either reading the Wingfeather Saga, reading off the Wingfeather Saga website, drawing things from the Wingfeather Saga, or making up my own Wingfeather Saga story. So yeah, I'm pretty much obsessed with the Wingfeather Saga.

I have added 3 Wingfeather Saga backgrounds for my computer.  Here they are! (Click on them to make them bigger)

The Igiby Cottage

A really cool scene from chapter 10

My personal favorite, a map of Glipwood
Do you like my awesome desktop backgrounds? I do!

Like I said, my favorite is the map of Glipwood (the town they live in at the beginning of the book). My second favorite is the Igiby Cottage, and the Dragon Song comes last, but I love all three. They are EPIC!

Two Thoughts In One Post

Well, like I said, I'm going to say two (completely different) thoughts in this post. Two important thoughts.

Thought #1: My loft bed. I mentioned it in one of my newest posts. Well, get ready. I'm having my room pretty much redone. Redone... from.... IKEA. Oh yes. You heard me. IKEA. Be jealous. Be veeery jealous.

I got an awesome bed from IKEA about 2 months ago. Dad and I put it together two nights after we got it. It's totally epic, and I love it. We left my other bed in my room, under the loft bed. It makes for an awesome hideout under there.

My loft bed and bottom bunk (and me!)

So I love my loft bed. That's thought one. Thought two.. thought two... heh heh....

Thought #2: I actually did it. I actually sent an email to Andrew Peterson.

"I adore your books SOOO much. They are totally awesome! I have been waiting, not so patiently, since the beginning of the year, wishing it would go by faster so I could read 'The Warden and the Wolf King'. My brother, mom and I read the books together at first. By the end of 'The Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness' we even had Dad listening and laughing. I've read them alone about 6 times (in a row).

We've shared this series with three of my best friends, and now they, also, wait in agony for 'The Warden and the Wolf King'. I know you can't write any faster than you can write but....

As the great explorer Jinto Qweb said "Hurry! Reading is fun!"

That is my email to him. The last sentence is a quote from the first book, "On the Edge of the Dark Sea of  Darkness". Like I said before, if you want more info, go here. If you are brave enough to go there, you will be introduced to a world you never knew. Aerwiar. It's about the most awesome place you can go. IF you follow the Igibys instead of living under rule of the fangs.

IF you are brave enough to click the link, then get the books off the website. I urge you. Or go on Amazon. It will be AWESOME. I promise.

Be wary of toothy cows and bomnubbles though. And Fangs. Especially the Fangs. And Stranders. Mighty unruly, that group. And almost no one is what they seem, just a warning.

Books and Books and Books

WARNING: This is about books! BE PREPARED!

So right now I'm looking for books to read, cuz I'm reading a lot, and so far, it's not working too well. These next few paragraphs will probably tell you why.

Wingfeather Saga

Right now I have them lent out to one of my good friends. I haven't had them for a long time, but she is going to be done with them soon, and I will get them back! Yay! I am still waiting patiently (not) for the last book to be released of it. I only have a few moths left (I hope) till I can get and read the awesome conclusion to the Wingfeather Saga.

I am STILL tired of waiting, but I'll spare you my latest ranting.

Door Within Trilogy

I have told you some about this awesome trilogy, I know. But I haven't told you that we have the last two books, but not the first one, and so I haven't read them in a while, right? Well, I finally broke down and started the second one two nights ago. I'm almost done with the third one. BUT! We ordered the first one from Amazon! It should get here sometime soon! It should be (I hope) only a week or two until I get the first one (and read them all again!)

The Dragon Keeper Chronicles

I mentioned in my post "My favorite things" that dragons were among my top favorite mythical creatures. This book series is why. The author, Donita K. Paul, portrays dragons as the main character's pets, the good guys. The main character, Kale, is a Dragon Keeper, finder of eggs. She finds eggs and hatches them. She has 'minor dragons' about the size of a large kitten, riding dragons, big enough to ride, and major dragons, the ones that help fight (only when the time comes).

Books in general (and why they're hard to find)

Well, it just so happens that I'm kind of a *picky reader (if that makes sense). Our library remodeled, and happened to "lose" about 3/4 of their books, and the 1/4 they're replacing, they're replacing with junk about zombies and stupid stuff like that. So I can't find books there very well. I will admit that I found a start of a very good trilogy there, but no other books of the trilogy.

Books at our house in our library, well, they're old, but most of them are good, but I don't want to read most of them. The Enola Holmes Mysteries (another good series), I started the series of 6, but then we started listening to them on CD and I wanted to listen to them with my family. That takes them out of the question.

As for the Dragon Keeper chronicles, I have all of them and I haven't lent them out, so you might be wondering why I don't read those. The answer: I read them two weeks ago.

Why I am reading so much right now

I'm trying not to spend so much time on the computer, so I am filling my time with books. I am also a very fast reader, so I don't ever linger on a book for long. I'm trying to find books that interest me, but so far I have three series/trilogies: Door Within, Wingfeather, and Dragon Keeper.

Please comment if you know any good books you think I should look into and read!

*Picky reader: I read adventure books, books like the Wingfeather saga, the Door Within Trilogy, and whatnot. Some books I just find... well, not of my interest.

More Books... Heh heh heh

Ok, so if you have been keeping up with my blog, you remember my posts about the Wingfeather Saga. I said I wouldn't post anymore till Mustang and her mom finished reading the series. You also might have noticed, if you are the type to read comments, that Mustang and her mom finished the last book the day I posted the fact that I wouldn't say anymore until they finished it.

Now that it is later, and I haven't read them in a while, I have even more opinions about these books.  *Clears throat*  Here we go!

First of all, I don't think they should ever let someone with a British accent read  "The Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness" aloud ever again. Not that he did a bad job, it was, however, rather weird to hear Nia, Leeli, Janner, and Tink with British accents. He did things differently and said character or animal names, hmmm, quite differently..

Second, I have currently read all three books at least 7 times and I STILL can't believe that ___________ was a ______________, or that _______________ betrayed them, or that he did end up ___________ _________ off.

Third, and you had to know it was coming: Andrew Peterson, you better get on to writing the fourth book!!! I am headed quickly towards the end off my patience, and yet it is only May. I have to wait all summer, and all winter before you can even publish the thing! Then, there is no telling how quickly we will get the book even after you publish it. HURRY IT UP, please? Oh yes and, with the first book blueish purple, the second book maroon, and the third book green, what color will the fourth book be?

Fourth, I have now spread this series to yet another family! Whoo!
 ****************
So, now I have finished griping about the Wingfeather Saga, I have another new series! It is called the Door Within series, and it is SO awesome. It follows several different people, starting with Aidan, then Antoinette, and finally Robby comes more into play.   But he is the only person , besides Andrew Peterson, that I know off that actually _____ his ____ _________ off! The books are awesome, but unfortunately, they are only a trilogy. I have read them all (twice) and they are amazing. But the third book is best. I can't tell you more about it because my mom and brother are both still reading them. My brother just started book 3 and mom, book 2.

You know, one of these days, I will fill in the blanks about the Wingfeather Saga, unless someone I know that is reading my blog doesn't know this already.

Blessings,
Firefly

MWAAHAHAHA!!!

More Wingfeather Saga for you! Aren't you happy?

Now they  (Mustang and her mom) are VERY close to having those same questions and no answers... VERY close.... This is almost enjoyable, but not quite...

Yesterday, I went over to their house for a time, and she will, by finishing the book, soon know that a few things she said are wrong.. Not bad estimates, just completely wrong!

Anyway, I, as I said, started the first book again, finished it, read #2, finished it, and, STARTED #1 AGAIN!! But then Mom wanted it, so I am letting her read it. But they are VERY good books and I very much encourage you to read them.

I am sorry if you are waiting for me to post about something besides the Wingfeather Saga. It will be soon. Because, and you can hold me to this, I will not post about the Wingfeather Saga again until Mustang has those same questions floating about or they finish the book (and I will get it back.. Mwahahaha!).

Just wanted to update you on the Wingfeather Saga.. I am still waiting for next year.. Waiting until 'The Warden and the Wolf King' .. Waiting until Mustang can want to scream these simple questions with no answer until later..

These few questions :
Is ______________ gonna _____ just when they ________ him??
The author wouldn't be THAT rude, right?
Why is ___________ a ______________, how and SERIOUSLY, IS HE GONNA _________?!?!?!?!?!
AND WHY ON EARTH DID _____________ ___________ DO THAT ?!!

I now know the answers (and the words that fill in the blanks!) to these questions, but Mustang.. Does not. I can't wait!

Hee Hee...

Hee hee... I still love the Wingfeather Saga....

My friend Mustang is reading the series (by way of us!) with her mom, and they just started the 3rd book.. Hee hee... This means that soon, very soon, she will have the same questions circling her head while she does school all day.. Mwahaaahaaa!!!!!!

This also means I now have the first and second books back in my control. As of Monday she gave "North or Be Eaten" back, and guess what I did IMMEDIATELY? I read it! Yes, I already read it.. AGAIN...

It was a good book the second time, too.. Last night, I read for about 3 hours straight, and read from Chapter 8 to Chapter 41,  and this morning grabbed my book as soon as possible. It is such a good book! I love how Andrew P. puts in the twist of _________________ and the other one, where _________________ happens. Isn't that right, Mustang?

I have told my family that until the next book comes out *cringe* NEXT YEAR I will read the first 3, or however many Mustang doesn't have, until I pretty much have them memorized. That means that today, the book I start (as I am ALWAYS in need of a book!) will be... Ahem............  'On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness' !!!!! Aren't I predictable?

Oh yes, I plan to read them over and over and over again till I can quote passages at a time, read the books from memory!! Okay, in all reality, I may not read them till I have them memorized, but I will read them until the next book comes out!

I still have that entire paragraph from the end of my LAST post about the Wingfeather Saga waiting for Andrew Peterson. Waiting till it can be put in a personal letter..... But oh well. I say COCK A DOODLE DOO to him, for now........
